When Brack.ch, Switzerland's second-largest e-commerce platform, sought a smarter way to handle their growing operational demands, they turned to Nomagic. Facing the challenges of high labour costs, diverse inventory, and weekend order peaks, Brack.ch needed a solution that combined efficiency, precision, and scalability.
Nomagic delivered a transformative warehouse automation system tailored to Brack.ch’s unique needs. Through innovative technologies like justPick and justPack, the partnership optimised fulfilment processes, seamlessly adapted to dynamic order volumes, and empowered Brack.ch to stay ahead in a competitive market. This is the story of how automation unlocked new possibilities for e-commerce success.
Brack.ch offers a wide range of consumer goods, which poses a challenge for picking. An order can contain multiple SKUs, each of which may require a different tool for picking.
Moreover, the items change depending on the season, which the solution has to be able to adapt quickly to deliver high performance all year round.
Goods in the ASRS are stored in bins that may be divided into up to 8 compartments. Such small volumes require careful and precise maneuvering, without impacting the overall cycle time.
Brack.ch maintains the competitive edge by constantly innovating on the warehouse processes. With frequent changes, the picking capability has to be flexible and resilient towards new item storage processes, while
Nomagic robots have become indispensable to our operations, running autonomously even during nights and weekends
With a clear vision for warehouse automation, Brach.ch is at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge technologies throughout its warehouse operations. Nomagic, covering Order Picking and Order Packing use cases, enabled the customer to turn this part of the vision into reality.
Fitting within the operational environment at the customer warehouse was severely constrained due to limited availability of space near the ASRS. Nomagic delivered a highly compact station, enabling the customer to continue standard warehouse operations while guaranteeing safety of the staff.
Having deployed Order Picking and automated Order Packing, Nomagic has delivered on the ROI promise. With the labour costs set to rise even further, Brack.ch will continue to enjoy cost savings at scale.
With orders coming in over the weekend, when the warehouse operations are limited, the customer experiences significant concentration of work on Mondays. Brack.ch can comfortably manage this peak, by introducing additional robot shifts to process orders on Sundays and early Monday mornings.
Having secured the trust of Brach.ch, Nomagic was asked to expand the fleet of robots. Multiple additional justPick deployments are planned in 2025, to scale the benefits and further build on the success of initial deployments.
Thanks to a special mode of operation called High Autonomy Mode, justPick robots work without any on-site support on Sundays, holidays and early mornings, when there is no staff in the warehouse.
These additional autonomous shifts increase Brack.ch’s order processing capacity; making it easier to handle peak periods and accelerating delivery times.
